Sage — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 September 2026
Sage (“Sage”, “we”, “us”) is a personal AI assistant app published by NexDesign Agency. This policy explains what data we collect, how we collect it, how we use it, the third parties we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. Sage is a personal “second brain”: it is powered by artificial intelligence, so to answer you it sends what you share to the third-party AI and data providers listed below. We ask for your permission in the app before any of this data is sent.
What data we collect, and how
We collect only what Sage needs to work for you:
- Messages you send — the text you type or speak to Sage, and your conversation history.
- Voice audio and transcripts — captured from your microphone while you talk with Sage, and, if you choose to record a meeting, that meeting’s audio.
- Photos and images — pictures you choose to scan, capture, or share with Sage.
- Your saved brain — the notes, memories, people, events, and decisions you build up in Sage.
- Data you import — if you choose to, a copy of your own Facebook or LinkedIn data export that you upload; Sage reads it on your device to create memories and does not upload your media files.
- On-device data you permit, in the moment you ask — contacts, calendar, reminders, photos, files, and location. Sage accesses these only when you ask it to and only for that request.
- Account and device identifiers — a sign-in identifier (Apple or Google) or an anonymous device session, plus basic session information, so your data stays yours across sessions.
How we use your data
We use your information solely to provide the assistant — to understand you, generate responses, transcribe your voice, interpret photos you share, recall relevant memories, transcribe meetings you record, and fetch the local information (such as weather or nearby places) you ask for. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Third parties we share data with
To generate Sage’s responses and features, we share the data below with the following providers. Each of these providers is required, under their own terms and our agreements with them, to protect your data to a standard at least equal to this policy and to the requirements of Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines, and to use your data only to perform the requested service. The AI providers below do not use your content to train their own models.
| Provider | What it receives |
|---|---|
| OpenAI | Your messages and conversation context; live microphone audio and transcripts during voice mode; photos you scan; and the saved notes/people needed to answer. Used for chat, voice, transcription, image understanding, web look-ups, and memory search. |
| Anthropic | The same message and context as above, used as a backup reasoning provider when needed. |
| Your approximate location, to return local weather, air quality, and nearby places; and, if you choose to record a meeting, that meeting’s audio, for transcription. | |
| SerpApi, Tavily, Brave Search | A search query derived from your request, when Sage looks something up on the web. |
| Open Food Facts | A barcode or product name you scan or ask about. |
| ElevenLabs | Text to be spoken aloud, when used as a backup voice. |
| Google (Gmail, Calendar), Twilio, Resend | Only if you connect the service and approve a specific action (such as sending an email, adding a calendar event, or a message): the information required to carry out that action, which you approve first. |
Your consent, and how to withdraw it
Before Sage sends any of your personal data to the AI and data providers above, we ask you to agree in the app on a consent screen that names the providers and lists the data sent. Nothing is sent to them until you agree. You can withdraw your consent at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy & data, and you can disconnect any account you have connected. If you withdraw consent, the AI-powered features will stop working, since Sage needs these providers to answer you.
Storage, security and retention
Your data is stored in an encrypted database, isolated per user, so one person’s data is never visible to another. The app can be locked with a passcode on your device. We retain your data for as long as your account exists so Sage can remember what matters to you; when you delete your account (below), your data is permanently removed. Providers process your data only to fulfil the request and retain it only as their terms allow.
Your rights and choices
You are in control of your data. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app, under Settings — deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. You can also withdraw your AI data-sharing consent, disconnect connected accounts, and choose which on-device permissions to grant. Where a permission is declined, Sage remains usable (for example, you can enter a location manually instead of sharing it).
Children
Sage is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Sage evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
